An Easter Lunch or brunch<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As the weather gets warmer, why not host lunch or brunch in the garden?  Dress your table in a crisp, white cloth and layer with napkins, crockery and glasses in soft yellows, pinks and greens to echo the natural colours of the season.  Add a vase of spring flowers, scatter some coloured mini eggs and delight younger guests with Easter crackers.  And why not string some pretty bunting above the table to create a festive atmosphere, or swap the flowers for a decorated Easter twig tree?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Afternoon tea<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Consider hosting afternoon tea with a spring-themed twist.  Serve floral teas, such as chamomile or lavender, alongside the more traditional black tea and create an assortment of finger sandwiches filled with seasonal ingredients like cucumber, smoked salmon, or egg salad. For sweet treats, include a selection of pastel-coloured macarons, lemon scones, and a carrot cake with cream cheese icing.  Serve your afternoon tea on pretty china and decorate the table with simple flowers and greenery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t let inclement weather spoil your celebrations! Capricious winds, sudden downpours and tumbling temperatures can all be alleviated with prior planning; weighted tablecloth clips, a gazebo, cosy throws or a patio heater can all help to ensure that lunch is an enjoyable celebration for everyone.\u00a0 However, given the changeable nature of the of the British weather, it\u2019s wise (make that essential) to have a plan B, by which we mean be prepared to set up indoors!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adult\/teenage Easter egg hunt<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Easter egg hunts aren\u2019t just for kids. With a little forethought and planning, you can easily create an egg hunt that will appeal to adults and teenagers just as much.  Here\u2019s how:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Divide guests into two or more teams.<\/li>
  2. Create a series of clues that will lead them around your house, garden or other setting.  <\/li>
  3. Hide clues in hollow plastic eggs \u2013 provide different colour eggs for each team<\/li>
  4. Leave small eggs at the location of each clue for eating on the way round.<\/li>
  5. The last clue should lead to a stash of larger eggs (or other age-appropriate gifts), but only for the winning team.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Alternatively, the plastic eggs could each contain a number which represents a letter of the alphabet.  Guests collect numbers and a codebreaker is provided at the penultimate location.  They must then decode the numerical clues, rearranging them to spell the name of the final location where the prize\/s await them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Adult egg hunts are a perfect team building activity for corporate events too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    No Easter party is complete without a traditional children\u2019s egg hunt.  You\u2019ll need to provide your little hunters with a suitable basket or bucket in which to collect their eggs \u2013 you don\u2019t want them melting en route!  Then, there are a couple of ways you can organise your egg hunt:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Allow individual participants to find as many eggs as possible; whoever collects the most is declared the winner.<\/li>
    2. Place an equal number of eggs for each child and assign a different colour to each of them \u2013 this method saves tears, especially if you have very young children taking part.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Once you\u2019ve hidden your eggs, place signs and\/or Easter bunny paw prints to help children locate the chocolate eggs.  Paw prints can be created from potting compost outside, or flour if you\u2019re planning an indoor egg hunt.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Why not make your Easter egg hunt a truly unforgettable experience for little ones by hiring an Easter bunny mascot?  Kids and adults alike will love meeting this cuddly character, and it creates the perfect photo opportunity.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Easter sleepover breakfast<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      Hosting an Easter sleepover is a brilliant way to entertain kids over the bank holiday weekend.\u00a0 <\/strong>Start by setting the scene with Easter themed bunting, bunny shaped cushions and colourful baskets of eggs.\u00a0 Keep the kids entertained before bed with a film such as \u2018Hop\u2019 or \u2018Peter Rabbit\u2019.\u00a0 Next morning, treat sleepover guests to a breakfast of bunny-shaped pancakes (strategic pouring of pancake mix to create ears is required!), or cheat and buy rabbit shaped crumpets, boiled eggs with a rabbit or chick egg cosy and pastel-coloured smoothies. \u00a0After breakfast, organise an Easter egg hunt in your house or garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
